Overview
Amanda Fernandez is a barrister based in 3PB’s London office. Amanda’s practice primarily spans commercial, property, and housing litigation.
Amanda has experience representing clients in various stages of court proceedings, including applications, pre-trial/interlocutory hearings, and trials. Amanda also has experience in drafting written advices and pleadings in a range of commercial and property matters.
Prior to pupillage, Amanda worked as a County Court Advocate, where she represented clients in hearings in the County Courts in all manner of applications, consumer credit matters, charging orders and housing matters. She also worked as a banking and finance litigation paralegal in an international law firm, where she assisted in the drafting of legal letters and statements of case in claims of breach of contract and misrepresentation issued against a major international bank. In addition, she provided pro-bono non-contentious corporate legal advice to business start-ups on matters such as company structure, company registration and shareholdings.
Amanda has won numerous academic and advocacy scholarships, including an award for her cross-examination skills.
Outside work, Amanda enjoys reading, travelling, walking her dog and outdoor swimming (in all weather)! She is friendly and approachable and speaks fluent Spanish.

- The Consumer Rights Act 2015;
- The Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982;

- Non-payment of professional fees;
- Debt claims;
- Interest as damages.
Amanda also has experience representing clients in various stages of court proceedings, including applications, interlocutory hearings and trials. Prior to joining 3pb, Amanda represented individual and commercial clients in a range of applications, including: applications for strike out, applications to set aside, applications for summary judgment, and applications to adduce further evidence. She also has experience in hearings for applications to enforce warrants, applications for the return of goods pursuant to the Consumer Credit Act 1974; and applications under the Charging Orders Act 1979.
She also worked as a banking and finance litigation paralegal in an international law firm, where she assisted in the drafting of legal letters and statements of case in claims of breach of contract and misrepresentation issued against a major international bank. - Advising on liability for repairs arising out of express and implied covenants in commercial leases;
- Advising on and drafting/amending a defence in relation to allegations of trespass over private land and counterclaiming a declaration of a right of way;
- Advising on serving a notice to quit on the personal representatives of the estate of a deceased leaseholder and/or the Public Trustee, pursuant to the clauses of the lease, the Law of Property (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1994 and the Administration of Estates Act 1925;
- Drafting a defence and advising on settlement in social housing disrepair matter, arising out of the Housing Act 1985;

- Social residential tenancy repossession hearings for secure tenancies under the Housing Act 1985;
- Private residential tenancy repossession hearings under the Housing Act 1988;
- Cost and Case management hearings;
- Applications for charging orders over residential property pursuant to the Charging Orders Act 1979;
- Applications for the repossession of mortgaged residential property pursuant to the Administration of Justice Act 1970.
