3PB's Berenice Mulvanny client acquitted of Manslaughter

Berenice Mulvanny, 3PB Barristers' specialist criminal law barrister, represented LC who, along with his father DC, was charged with manslaughter. The issue for trial was whether LC was acting in defence of another after his father, DC, was punched by the deceased.

The deceased was then punched to the head and died from a bleed on the brain. The Jury heard that LC was a hard working family man who had never been in involved with the police or criminal justice system before. The Jury at Southampton Crown Court acquitted both defendants after a 12 day trial.
