Overview

Alice Horn is a barrister specialising in commercial litigation and arbitration and construction and engineering claims. She completed her pupillage with 3PB in October 2024 and previously worked as a Judicial Assistant in the Commercial, TCC, and Admiralty Divisions of the High Court, working with Mrs Justice Jefford, Mr Justice Waksman, Mr Justice Jacobs, Mr Justice Andrew Baker and Mr Justice Robin Knowles.

At the Court, she assisted these judges on a range of international commercial matters including technology, procurement, construction, and contract-based cases, as well as injunctions, CCMCs, and issues arising out of, or in connection with arbitral proceedings, by conducting legal research, drafting, or preparing summaries and case notes.

Alice came to the Bar following a ten-year career in brand strategy and behavioural science research for multinational companies in the technology, automotive, financial, and fast-moving consumer goods sectors, including running her own consultancy. As a result, she is well placed to understand not only her client’s legal situation but also the broader commercial, stakeholder, and public relations implications that can arise from litigation.

Alice is fluent in Spanish, having grown up in Spain, and has experience of serving as a volunteer medical translator in Mexico & Nicaragua. More recently she has volunteered with Advocate (the Bar Pro Bono Charity), the Free Representation Unit, as a tutor on the Gray’s Inn International Commercial Arbitration Course, and as a legal researcher with the Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts (SIFoCC).

Outside of work, Alice is a keen sailor and Yachtmaster. She was the youngest - and one of only two female – skippers to complete the Virgin Atlantic Challenge in 2019. She now crews as bow on J109s in coastal and cross-channel yacht races.
