Leading property litigation barrister joins 3PB
20th April 2026

3PB Barristers (3 Paper Buildings) is delighted to announce that leading property litigation barrister Carl Geary has joined Chambers. Carl was head of the civil law team and co-head of ADR at his former chambers.
A former solicitor and partner with a highly-regarded law firm in the South West, Carl's caseload invariably involves land and property spanning ToLATA, cohabitee trust disputes, adverse possession, nuisance, trespass, issues with commercial and residential tenancies and leases and contentious probate cases as well as building and construction disputes and related professional negligence.
With a practice spanning across tribunal hearings through to the High Court and appeals, Carl is very experienced at providing representation and advice to clients across many of 3PB’s core practice areas and at all levels. Carl also has considerable experience of representing parties in all forms of ADR and is an accredited mediator.
Carl is particularly sought out and recognised for his commercial acumen and is often asked to advise on strategy at case inception, drawing on his prior experience as a solicitor to collaborate as part of a team with those that instruct him to provide clients with a highly focussed end to end service.
Carl commented, “I am very excited to be joining the outstanding team of barristers at 3PB and to be strengthening the property team which already has a reputation for excellence. This is a great time to join as 3PB is committed to strengthen its significant property expertise and ensure that it offers counsel of the highest quality and capability across the full range of property and chancery work."
Charles Irvine, who heads 3PB's 50-strong Property and Estates Group, said: “We are delighted that Carl has chosen to join us at 3PB. He is known to members of chambers already and Carl has a terrific reputation as a real property lawyer with strong technical ability and a gift for advocacy. He brings to 3PB additional capability in trusts of land and contentious probate. We very much look forward to having him as a member of Chambers.”
