3PB recruits two top family barristers

3PB, one of the UK's oldest chambers, continue their Birmingham chambers expansion with the recruitment of two senior family barristers with a national reputation, Dorian DayDorian DayCall: 1987 and Michael GeorgeMichael GeorgeCall: 1990.

“I am delighted Dorian and Michael are joining 3PB,” said Hamish Dunlop, Head of 3PB’s 64 strong family law team. "Both have exceptional reputations and will be great assets to our clients, served from our premises at The Colmore Building, Birmingham and 3PB nationally.”

Dorian Day is a senior family law barrister with over 30 years’ experience at the Bar. Highly respected for complex financial remedy cases, welfare and financial aspects of disputes over children and international relocation and abduction cases, he also handles judicial review matters.

Fellow former St Philips barrister Michael George adds some 27 years’ experience at the bar to the 3PB team. A financial remedy and private family law specialist, Michael’s expertise ranges from acting in financial remedy cases, advising on commercial and farming assets, tax efficient settlements for splitting assets as well as negotiating the complexities of undisclosed assets, financial manipulation, offshore funds and international assets.  Well versed in both civil and family legal procedure, Michael says he is delighted to join 3PB.

“I’ve been very fortunate to have built experience across the family law spectrum. It’s exactly that breadth and depth of expertise, as well as being part of a chambers with a number of strong senior and leading counsel, that I believe characterises the 3PB family law team. I’m very much looking forward to bringing my skills to 3PB and moving forward together.”

The barristers join 3PB's new Birmingham premises which opened in November 2017 in the Colmore building situated in the heart of Birmingham's commercial quarter. The duo join former St Philips colleagues - Silk Liz McGrath QC, Practice Director Ian Charlton and barristers Lawrence Messling, Suzanne Coleclough, Hannah Bush, Mark Calway, Poonam Bhari as well as Vanessa Meachin QC, who became a Queen’s Counsel in last month’s appointments.
