Stephen provides a short legal opinion about how courts in England and Wales should decide what is fair when a married couple divorces and divides their finances.

This article argues that courts have been overlooking two important factors in divorce settlements: the obligations and responsibilities spouses have towards each other and other people, particularly their children.
