3PB recruits childcare family barrister for Birmingham team

3PB Barristers are proud to announce the recruitment of a new family barrister specialising in children for its Birmingham office and national family law team. Rebecca Franklin – called to the Bar in 2001 – joins from another leading Birmingham chambers and provides representation in private law children matters, public law and domestic violence/injunctions.

Rebecca has a wealth of experience in representing the most vulnerable clients, including those with learning disabilities and mental health difficulties, having been instructed by the Official Solicitor on numerous occasions. Rebecca is also instructed by a number of different local authorities in public law cases, by Children’s Guardians, minors acting by way of a solicitor and parents and other family members.

Rebecca has conducted lengthy and complex fact-finding hearings involving significant injuries (including those of a fatal nature) to children, neglect and sexual abuse. She has presented many legal arguments including subjects such as implacable hostility and jurisdiction and been involved in cases with significant domestic violence. She has expertise and experience in child abduction matters concerning both Hague Convention and non-Convention countries.

Rebecca joining 3PB this year includes Birmingham barrister recruits Michael George, Dorian Day, Lydia Pemberton, Aimee Fox and Stephen Abberley. Rebecca Franklin is the latest in a string of successes and recruits for 3PB’s highly-regarded Family Team which now boasts 4 Silks and 65 Juniors nationally and has seen 3PB act as counsel for the two highest profile family cases before the Supreme Court this year, the landmark divorce case of Owens vs Owens and the finance test case of Mills vs Mills.
