Hosted by Sunyana Sharma, the podcast episode features guests, Steve Broach KC, Sam Mercer and Stuart Pringle.
Together, they speak openly about the unexpected challenges that can arise at the Bar from mental health struggles, burnout to bereavement and other sudden crises that can reshape a barrister’s working life.
They reflect on the pressures that may force individuals to step back or even leave practice, and the realities of navigating those moments. They also highlight the role of clerks, colleagues and wellbeing professionals in providing practical adjustments and compassionate support, helping to create sustainable pathways back into practice.
