Exceptional criminal KC joins 3PB

6th September 2022

Kate Lumsdon QC

3PB is delighted to welcome leading criminal law barrister Kate Lumsdon KC (pictured here) as a door tenant.

Joint Head of Chambers at 23ES, Kate was called to the Bar in 1993. She practised exclusively on the Western Circuit at 2KBW until moving to 23 Essex Street in 2010.  Prior to taking Silk in 2018, she was a Grade 4 prosecutor on both the Western and South Eastern Circuit, and defended across the country.

Rated as "exceptional" by the Legal 500; acknowledged as a "godsend for the instructing solicitor" by Chambers and Partners, Kate enjoys a heavyweight practice both defending and prosecuting in all areas of criminal law. She has acted in murders and serious sexual offences from large scale multi-handed child abuse, people trafficking and prostitution to one off “date rape” situations. Her financial and corporate crime practice has seen her act in serious fraud trials. She is at home prosecuting and defending cases which cross the boundary between criminal offences and regulatory breaches.

Kate has represented the Western Circuit on the Criminal Bar Association Executive and currently represents the Western Circuit on the Bar Council.

She is a Vulnerable Witness Advocacy Trainer for the Criminal Bar Association and Middle Temple.

Head of 3PB's Crime team Adam Feest KC said: "We are delighted that Kate has chosen to join 3PB's criminal law team, adding her considerable ability to our leading team's strengths and depth."

For more information or to instruct Kate, please contact her clerk Stuart Pringle.
