Trading Standards
Robin Leach has handled a number of trading standards cases. These include representing a defendant in a multi-handed [10] conspiracy called Ashton and others in Southampton Crown Court. The allegation was that the defendants had fraudulently targeted elderly people for many years persuading them to have their drains repaired when not necessary. Millions of pounds were dishonestly appropriated from over 900 victims. The trial lasted three months. Most defendants were acquitted of most charges. Those convicted were convicted of one or two charges and received non-custodial sentences.
Robin is presently instructed in a "rogue trading" case prosecuted by Trading Standards in Salisbury Crown Court, where elderly persons are targeted to have building or gardening work done against their will.
