Overview
Maisie Carter is a family law barrister who practises across the Midlands. Maisie joined 3PB in November 2023 having completed her pupillage with a specialist family law chambers in the North West of England.
Maisie attained a first class degree in Law with Criminology (LLB) at the University of Leicester and was awarded several prizes, including the Law School Jubilee Prize for best overall degree performance and two awards for her results in the family law module. Maisie continued her studies with the University of Law in Birmingham where she attained a Very Competent in the Bar Practice Course and a Distinction in her Master of Laws (LLM).
Maisie welcomes instructions in private and public law children matters and proceedings under the Family Law Act 1996. Maisie acts at all stages of the proceedings, including urgent hearings through to multi-day finding of fact and final hearings.
Maisie adopts a solution based approach and is client focussed in all aspects of her work, striving for resolution at all stages of the proceedings. Maisie has excellent communication skills and is routinely commended for her ability to quickly build a rapport with her clients, providing realistic but sensitive advice. Maisie has worked with clients with additional vulnerabilities and ensures that they are able to participate fairly in the proceedings.
Maisie has successfully completed the ‘Advocacy and the Vulnerable National Training Programme for the Family Court’ with the Inns of Court College of Advocacy and Family Law Bar Association.
Outside of work, Maisie enjoys travelling, socialising with family and friends, going to the gym and going on long walks with her dog.
