Overview

Ayman Saey is a pupil barrister completing a six-month shortened pupillage, on a placement with 3PB’s London office, focused on commercial litigation and arbitration, before returning to Dubai in April 2027.

Ayman already brings significant experience across a broad range of civil and commercial litigation and arbitration from his practice in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including complex, high-value and leading cases.

Called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2023, Ayman earlier achieved a distinction in the Graduate Diploma in Law and a merit in the Bar Training Course, on which he was awarded an Advocacy Scholarship.

Currently a member of Hadef & Partners’ multi-ranked Dispute Resolution team in Dubai, Ayman has also served as a judge in the Small Claims Tribunal of the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts (DIFC Courts) and as the Courts’ Senior Judicial Assistant. At Hadef, Ayman practises across a broad range of “offshore” and “onshore” disputes, spanning, amongst other things: the recognition and enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards; applications for interim measures; contract, investment, and property disputes; and civil fraud.

As a Judicial Assistant at the DIFC Courts, Ayman assisted judges across a broad range of civil and commercial disputes — including extensively in the Arbitration Division — both at first instance and on appeal, with his assistance spanning the entirety of the decision-making process, from reading into cases through to drafting judgments. He worked on around 270 proceedings and drafted around 130 reasoned judgments, many considered significant, with around 40 cited in the leading commentary on DIFC Courts procedure, DIFC Courts Practice (Reed, R. KC and Montagu-Smith, T. KC (eds.), 2nd edition, Edward Elgar 2024).

In training, his advocacy has been described by King’s Counsel as “very impressive,” “excellent” and “very persuasive.”

While at Hadef, Ayman co-authored widely read articles on the special examination of witnesses in English court proceedings and on Dubai Decree No. 29 of 2024 (which established the Conflicts of Jurisdiction Tribunal), as well as a Practical Law article on attachment and freezing orders in the UAE.

Outside work, Ayman retains a keen interest in film: in a previous life, he wrote and directed a short documentary on the British artist-filmmaker William Raban's approach to filmmaking and his then in-production work, About Now MMX.
