Holly Fagan successful in four Crown Court trials in September 2026
13th October 2026

3PB Barristers’ (3 Paper Buildings) specialist criminal law barrister, Holly Fagan, successfully defended three trials and prosecuted one trial in the Crown Court in September 2026.
Holly’s first client, Mr F, was charged with coercive and controlling behavior, ABH, intentional strangulation and intentional suffocation. Holly’s meticulous review of over 1000 pages of medical records identified evidence which she deployed at various stages of the trial to critically undermine the prosecution case. This, coupled with a structured and targeted cross-examination of the Complainant, resulted in Mr F being unanimously acquitted of all charges.
In her second case, R v H (and others), Holly’s young client was involved in a fight in a bar while at university. He joined the fight to defend his friend who was being assaulted by the Complainant. In the process he smashed his glass against the Complainant’s face causing a laceration under the eye. The Crown alleged a vicious and unprovoked group attack with Mr H in the lead role. Mr H and his co-defendants were charged with s18 GBH with intent. Mr H was acquitted. Mr H had previously pleaded guilty to one count of s20 GBH without intent on the basis of excessive self-defence/defence of another.
In her third case, R v D, Holly’s careful cross-examination of the Complainant elicited numerous inconsistencies in her account. This resulted in the acquittal of Mr D of charges of intentional strangulation and assault by beating.
Also in September, Holly prosecuted R v F, a trial in which the Defendant was convicted of two charges of sexually assaulting a woman half his age at their place of work.
