3PB's new line-up band triumphs at Bristol Law Society's Battle of the Bands 2026

3PB Barristers' new line-up house band “The Skeleton Exchange” won the Bristol Law Society’s Battle of the Bands contest at The Fleece last Thursday, 26 June; after being declared Best Band by the two professional judges and thanks to the audience’s loud cheers.
Performing in a swelteringly hot venue on the hottest day in 50 years, the band delighted the crowd with hits from the 70s onwards, covering tracks from Bon Jovi, Free, White Stripes, Patti Smith, U2, Heart and Amy Winehouse.
Nicola Frost (singer) was joined by James Davison (singer and guitarist), Richard Whitehouse (bass guitar), James Thornton (lead guitar), Oliver Ingham (keyboards), Eaindra Cho (backing vocals) and Andy Booker (friend to the band and drummer). The band is photographed here by Aaron Sims.
The band overcame some fierce competition in performing a 70s-themed set from Thrings’ “Stranger Thrings”, VWV’s “The Narrow Keys”, Womble Bond Dickinson's "Legally Bond", Freeths' "Manic Freeth Preachers" and a combination-band "The Bowie Rufus".
All the night’s proceeds went to Stand Against Racism & Inequality (SARI), a charity dedicated to combating racism and promoting equality in the community. Previous years have supported other charities, such as Young Lives vs Cancer, highlighting the event’s ongoing commitment to social causes in the region.
