Sara Lewis KC joins 3PB

3PB Barristers (3 Paper Buildings) is delighted to welcome Sara Lewis KC as a new member of chambers and its 90-strong Family Law Group, which now boasts seven KC's. Sara was called to the Bar in 1996, took silk in 2021 and joins 3PB today from her former chambers, where she was its last of Head of Chambers until the beginning of 2026.
Ranked as a Leading Silk by Legal 500 since she became a KC in 2021 and described by them as "the KC you want on your case" (2026), Sara is a renowned barrister for public law cases involving the most serious types of non-accidental injury, such as those involving significant head trauma and death. She also has considerable experience of acting for those with complex psychiatric issues such as FII.
Sara has a busy private law children practice, advising and representing parents in the most sensitive and contentious proceedings resulting from relationship breakdown and focused on residence and contact disputes, serious domestic abuse, LGBTQ+ Parenting, Prohibited Steps and Specific Issues Orders, and leave-to-remove-children-from-jurisdiction cases.
Sara is regularly instructed to represent parents and guardians, renowned for her proactive and user-friendly approach, providing straightforward and careful advice at every stage of a case. Noted by Legal 500 for being “approachable” and having “an exceptional rapport with clients”, Sara likes to build a productive working relationship with both lay and professional clients. Revered for her meticulous preparation, the quality of her court performance and her robust advocacy when necessary, Sara is described by Legal 500 as “extremely thorough”, “always impeccably prepared” and her “courtroom manner is unfaltering, and cross-examination is bespoke and effective.”
Sara is also a professional disciplinary expert and is a member of Sports Resolutions’ Panel of Arbitrators, appointed to the Chairpersons List on the National Safeguarding Panel. She has undertaken a number of matters in that capacity, including hearing appeals against decisions of National Governing Bodies such the FA, England Boxing and British Gymnastics. She has also undertaken independent reviews of safeguarding decisions made by NGB’s. She has also been instructed to represent bereaved families and local authorities at inquests (holding the position of Assistant Coroner for the City of Manchester from 2009-2018).
