3PB welcomes specialist chancery barrister Jon Ward to its Property and Estates team
27th October 2025

3PB Barristers (3 Paper Buildings) is delighted to announce that Jon Ward has joined its seven-office Property and Estates team, further strengthening Chambers’ nationwide reputation and expertise for chancery, real property and agricultural law. Jon joins from Magdalen Chambers in Exeter, where he retains an affiliate membership and close links.
Jon (pictured here) was called to the Bar in 2019 (Middle Temple) after practising as a solicitor from 2016 as a partner in a respected law firm. He brings a wealth of commercial and practical experience to his clients’ cases, combining detailed legal knowledge with a pragmatic and analytical approach highly valued by both professional and lay clients.
Jon’s practice spans the full range of land and property law, with a particular focus on planning, construction, boundaries, and professional negligence in those areas. He has extensive experience in land registration disputes, restrictive covenants, adverse possession, proprietary estoppel, and trusts of land (TOLATA) matters.
He also maintains an established practice in agricultural law, advising on agricultural tenancies, partnership and beneficial interest disputes, and rural land use and planning, including green energy and diversification projects. His commercial background makes him equally adept at assisting in the non-contentious stages of development and acquisition, including advising on and drafting construction contracts, warranties and development agreements.
Welcoming Jon to 3PB, Matthew Cannings, Head of 3PB’s Property and Estates Group, said:
“Jon’s appointment reflects the continued growth of our national Property and Estates team and our commitment to providing clients with exceptional strength in depth. His strong appellate track record, breadth of experience across property, agricultural and chancery work, and his pragmatic, commercial approach make him an outstanding addition to Chambers.”
Jon added:
“I’m delighted to be joining 3PB’s highly regarded Property and Estates team. The Chambers’ national footprint and collaborative approach make it an ideal environment for me to continue developing my practice and to support clients across the full spectrum of property and chancery matters.”
