3PB welcomes Barry McTaggart as its latest twelve-month pupil
30th September 2025

Pupil barrister Barry McTaggart (pictured here) starts his twelve-month civil law pupillage today 1st October 2025 and will be focused on personal injury and clinical negligence disputes and advisory work. He will be based from 3PB's London office.
Barry McTaggart worked in the financial services industry both for the Financial Ombudsman Service as an investigator and as an assistant fund manager, responsible for equity valuation for a €1bn multi-asset investment portfolio.
Simon Astill, 3PB’s Chief Executive, commented that: “I am so pleased to see Barry start with us. He's joining a very successful set and will benefit from the friendly collegiate environment we have for pupils, staff and members alike here; and get a level of on-the-job and advocacy training that is second to none at the Bar. I’m really looking forward to seeing him prosper here.”
This follows the news from April this year that the seven-office, national chambers had taken on three other barristers for twelve-month pupillages namely Liam O'Shaughnessy and Eaindra Cho (both focusing on employment and discrimination) and Simon Haywood (civil litigation, focusing on commercial, property and costs). All three have successfully completed their first six and are now on their feet and available to take instructions in their own right, both to appear in court and on advisory matters.
