3PB brings in experienced international arbitration and commercial litigation barrister Lucy Keane

3PB Barristers (3 Paper Buildings) announced today that senior international arbitrator and commercial litigator Lucy Keane FCIArbLucy KeaneCall: 1988, who is qualified in five jurisdictions, has joined their London office in the Inner Temple as an associate.

Lucy brings substantial experience in international commercial arbitration and litigation as well as extensive advocacy experience before the English (and other) courts, adding further senior advocacy firepower to the national chambers' global disputes practice.

Lucy joins from 33BR, where she specialised in international dispute resolution, notably commercial arbitration cases under LCIA and ICC rules. Lucy’s practice included client representation as counsel and advising clients on dispute resolution structuring in commercial contracts, as well as arbitrator appointments. Lucy was also appointed by the European Commission in 2022 to its pool of accredited arbitrators for bilateral trade disputes. Lucy’s most recent experience has been with a boutique disputes practice in Gibraltar, where she acted as counsel in a number of complex cases ranging from corporate insolvency to shareholder disputes. Lucy also appeared as counsel in cases involving crypto assets, including a recent multi-million pound claim before the Supreme Court of Gibraltar involving worldwide freezing and ancillary orders and a LCIA arbitration concerning crypto investment.

An adviser to energy, shipping and corporate clients, Lucy assists clients on shareholder disputes, commercial contracts, investment funds and associated regulatory issues, sale and carriage of goods and international trade disputes. She first became involved in large-scale oil and gas disputes when appointed as one of the counsel representing Occidental Petroleum in the proceedings arising from the Piper Alpha disaster in 1988.
