Stephen Wildblood KC writes for the Financial Remedies Journal on the Two Different Forms of NCDR
1st August 2025

3PB’s specialist family barrister, Stephen Wildblood KC, has written an article for the Financial Remedies Journal titled “Thinking Outside the Box – Two Different Forms of NCDR.” The article is co-written by Dr. Freda V. Gardner, a consultant clinical psychologist with whom Stephen works when conducting mediations through their LLP, Gardner Wildblood LLP.
Stephen and Dr. Freda, both trained mediators, now collaborate as a consultant clinical psychologist and a lawyer with mediation training to offer separating couples an alternative form of non-court dispute resolution (NCDR) concerning children and finances.
The article aims to describe their work and its benefits. It also explores another developing form of NCDR called a settlement meeting. They emphasise that their collaborative approach, which integrates the expertise of a lawyer and a clinical psychologist, harmonises informed conflict resolution with legal experience and psychological insights.
