3PB appoints Michelle Marnham and Luke Ashby to lead its talented PI and Clinical Negligence team

3PB Barristers are delighted to announce the appointment of Michelle Marnham to head its Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Teams. Michelle Marnham will be supported by Luke Ashby who becomes Deputy Head for the team.

Chambers expresses its many thanks to Mark Lomas, who passes on the baton to Michelle and Luke. Mark headed the team since 2015 and was instrumental in its development: 3PB is now home to 36 personal injury practitioners and 25 clinical negligence barristers, including Silk Angela Grahame (Scot) QC, who work across the UK through our 6 office locations.

Both 3PB’s PI and clinical negligence teams attract praises from their clients through the legal directories who acknowledge them as offering ‘a wealth of technical experts’ (Legal 500 2021), acting on ‘cases ranging from the simplest to the most complex’ (Legal 500 2021).

Michelle Marnham is a Leading Junior Barrister with over 20 years' experience, specialising in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. Michelle has particular interest in catastrophic injury claims involving CRPS, traumatic brain injury and fatal accident claims.  She is regularly instructed in cases with technical aspects on liability and in a wide variety of employers’ liability, Highways Act Claims and RTA claims. Her Clinical Negligence practice includes expertise dealing with brain; neo-natal and birth defect claims; orthopaedics; product liability and cosmetic surgery. Michelle’s clients recommend her as ‘a persuasive and effective advocate who is particularly skilled in dealing with claims involving complex issues.’ (Legal 500 2021).

Luke Ashby specialises in serious and life changing personal injury and clinical negligence claims. His practice includes fatal accidents, amputations and other permanent injuries involving significant amounts of damages.  He also regularly represents Defendants in claims involving allegations of fraud and fundamental dishonesty.  He has particular experience in costs and high value credit hire disputes.  Luke is, ‘Excellent with clients. Very user-friendly. Sharp on the law, but sees the bigger picture. Top drawer negotiator. Always really well prepared and knows their areas. Also very good at retrieving potentially lost-cause situations.’ (Legal 500 2021).
