We are delighted to announce that the King has appointed 3PB personal injury and clinical negligence barrister Luke Ashby (pictured here) to be a District Judge with effect from Monday 31 October 2022.

District Judge Ashby will sit on the Western Circuit and be based at Bournemouth County Court.

Luke Ashby was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 2007 and appointed as a Fee-paid First-tier Tribunal Judge, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2019, and as a Deputy District Judge in the same year.

Consistently recommended in both leading legal directories, Chambers UK and Legal 500 and Deputy Head of 3PB's Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Group, Luke Ashby's practice focussed on claims involving serious and life changing injuries in the multi-track. He also regularly represented defendants in claims involving allegations of fraud and fundamental dishonesty. He had particular experience in costs and high value credit hire disputes.

Michelle Marnham, who heads 3PB’s 37-strong team of PI and clinical negligence barristers, said: “Congratulations to Luke on his appointment. This is a terrific achievement and well deserved.”
