Liam O'Shaughnessy and Eaindra Cho join 3PB's Employment and Discrimination Group
1st April 2026

3PB is pleased to announce that two specialist employment and discrimination barristers Liam O'Shaughnessy and Eaindra Cho (pictured here) have successfully completed their twelve-month pupillages and become members of chambers in the Employment and Discrimination Group. Both will continue to be focusing on employment and discrimination claims and advisory work, handling cases in the South West and South of England as well as across the country.
Liam O'Shaughnessy (call: 2024) joined 3PB's Winchester Office after having worked as a senior HR professional for over 25 years for the likes of the AA, Gatwick Airport, Carnival PLC (P&O Cruises and Cunard Line), Barclays, British Airways, the Civil Service and the Metropolitan Police and has also acted as a consultant to organisations including Birmingham City Council and Stagecoach Group. His extensive in-house experience has seen Liam develop expertise across all areas of employment and wider HR matters such as stakeholder management and regulatory compliance as well as legal services delivery, including managing litigation to Court of Appeal level. Throughout his pupillage, Liam was instructed in cases before the employment tribunal successfully defending claims of unfair dismissal, automatic (health and safety related) dismissal, and securing strike out of claims. He acted as Junior Counsel in the County Court in a professional negligence claim and has acted in Judicial Mediation. He was also recognised by Advocate for pro-bono work with a claimant unable to afford legal representation. Liam spent three years as an employer member of the Central Arbitration Committee (CAC) and three years as a lay member of the Fitness to Practice Panel of the General Medical Council (GMC). Liam is much in demand across all aspects of employment law including discrimination issues and employment status. Experienced in managing bulk and high-risk tribunal cases, union negotiations, creating exit packages for senior employees, Liam has managed high risk tribunal cases with counsel, drafted employment contracts and policies, advised on large-scale redundancy exercises and handled very sensitive investigations and whistleblowing complaints.
Eaindra Cho (Call: 2024) joined 3PB in Bristol from Burges Salmon LLP’S Dispute Resolution team where she assisted on high-profile public inquiries such as the Post Office Horizon Inquiry and the COVID-19 Inquiry. Like Liam, Eaindra has extensive employment and discrimination experience beyond her year of call, having acted on behalf of both claimants and respondents in the Employment Tribunal as an employment litigator at Direct Line Group and a litigation consultant at Croner Group. These cases ranged from unfair dismissal claims to Working Time Regulations, TUPE, whistleblowing and discrimination claims. Even prior to pupillage, Eaindra successfully acted in the reported cases of Endrojono v High Commission of Brunei Darussalam (2200486/2022), Hughes v Aardvark Clear Mine Ltd (4103151/2023) and Pople v Mrs L Newman-Ford (T/a Shear Divine) (6007765/2024). Eaindra has conducted advocacy in preliminary hearings and multi-day trials, and is experienced in drafting pleadings, and advising on ongoing litigation risks, prospects and strategy, as well as alternative dispute resolution. Some highlights during pupillage include: drafting a complex whistleblowing Grounds of Complaint; successfully defending a sex discrimination claim and obtaining a 70% contributory conduct reduction for both the basic and compensatory awards in a 5-day trial; and successfully securing a 'drop hands' settlement while acting for the respondent on Day 5 of a 7-day disability discrimination trial.
Karen Moss, who heads 3PB's Employment and Discrimination Group, said: “Congratulations to Liam and Eaindra. I am delighted to welcome them to 3PB and our group. The offer of a tenancy is only made to pupils who have shown exceptional ability. I have no doubt that both of them will thrive at the Bar and I look forward to seeing their careers flourish here.”
This follows the announcement in October last year that three other pupil barristers - James Hume, Emily Hayward and Toria Holland - had become members after completing their 12-month pupillages with the 7-office, 270-barrister chambers.
