June Venters KC named as Lawyer of the Week by The Times today

3PB's family law barrister and silk June Venters KC has been named as Lawyer of the Week by The Times today, following the High Court ruling in favour of her client, a mother, who had used an unregulated sperm donor. Robert Albon, who advertises himself as “Joe Donor” - and claimed to have fathered more than 180 children around the world - applied unsuccessfully for parental responsibility and direct contact with a child in the UK.
The judge in the trial commented that Albon "will seize opportunities from his sperm donor activities to gain rewards — whether through sex, immigration advantages, housing, or personal recognition. His priorities lie elsewhere — not with the welfare of his existing or future children." The full story about the case can be found here in an earlier 3PB news report.
