Juliet Osborne successful for prosecution in case involving allegations of sexual assault

3PB’s criminal barrister Juliet Osborne has secured the conviction of an 83-year-old after a 4-day trial in Bournemouth Crown Court, involving allegations of sexual assault of an 18-year-old girl.
Juliet was successful in her application to admit bad character evidence of the Defendant concerning an earlier, uncharged incident.
The Defendant was convicted following Juliet's effective cross-examination, challenging his credibility and highlighting to the jury key differences between his police interview and his evidence at court. He will be sentenced in November 2026.
