Overview
Aaron Luxton joined 3PB in April 2023 to undertake a specialist, Commercial third-six pupillage. He joined from the Birmingham office of an international law firm, where he was previously a Solicitor Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience (Civil Proceedings), before becoming an employed barrister in 2022.
After being called to the Bar in 2015, Aaron worked as a paralegal at a UK ‘top 30’ law firm, before subsequently being offered a training contract with the firm. He gained experience in a number of practice areas including real estate, commercial litigation, corporate and restructuring and insolvency. During his commercial litigation seat, Aaron was involved on a range of commercial disputes including phone hacking, employment disputes, contract claims and an international arbitration.
Aaron qualified as a Solicitor in 2020 into a busy, Tier 1 insolvency team (Legal 500). Aaron brings with him extensive contentious restructuring and insolvency experience, including administration appointments and extensions, disclaimers of leasehold estates, security and retention of title claims and directors’ duties. As a Solicitor, Aaron also assisted with and prepared many Court applications.
As an advocate, Aaron has already appeared in over 250 hearings including a wide range of applications and fast track trials. Typical areas in which he receives instructions are:
- Insolvency (corporate and personal)
- Contractual and business-to-business disputes
- Commercial litigation
Aaron is a passionate and determined barrister who understands, first-hand, the challenges and demands faced by solicitors, and who uses his own personal experience to prioritise providing excellent client care.
Outside of work, Aaron enjoys cycling and following his beloved West Bromwich Albion football team across the country.

In a recent case at Winchester Crown Court, 3PB Barristers’ (3 Paper Buildings) specialist criminal barrister Rebecca McKnight’s client was found not guilty of two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm which included serious allegations of persistent strangulation.
