Emma McIlveen's publishes her latest employment newsletter on NI employment disputes

3PB's new associate member Emma McIlveen, an employment and discrimination and public law specialist, has published her latest monthly newsletter with over 30 reports about employment disputes in Northern Ireland (NI), Ireland and England and Wales.
This month's newsletter includes:
- Parental Leave in NI being extended to cover miscarriage.
- New Court of Appeal ruling gives guidance on formulating grounds of appeal in all NI courts.
- Ruling that no TUPE transfer of clinical commissioning group as not an "economic entity."
- EIRCOM'S compulsory retirement policy held to be "objectively and reasonably justified."
- Shop worker with weakened immune system - absent for 12 days in first 6 months of employment - was 'discriminatorily dismissed."
- Aer Lingus captain claims "witchhunt" after advertising to colleagues that their personal details were openly available on internal IT.
The newsletter advertises law firm Lewis Silkin's Advanced Employment Law Academy's half-day, online training on Conflict Resolution on Thursday 12 February 2026 (click here to register) and Legal Island and law firm Tughans' Mock Tribunal half-day, in-person on Thursday 14 April 2026 (click here to register).
Lewis Silkin and Legal Island also marked 30 years of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) in NI with an "Employer Guide to reasonable adjustments."
