Matthew Cannings joined Chambers following successful completion of his pupillage under the supervision of Guy Opperman and Christian Sweeney and is developing a broad common law practice. During pupillage, Matthew gained experience in a variety of practice areas, including commercial law, property law, public and regulatory law, insolvency, personal injury and crime.
Matthew has experience of advisory work, drafting and advocacy in the County Court, High Court, Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court.
Matthew has a particular interest in property, commercial and public law and is keen to develop his practice in these areas. Where appropriate, Matthew is willing to accept work on a conditional fee basis.
In his rare spare time, Matthew is a keen sports fan; playing cricket and golf and watching pretty-much everything. He also enjoys music and theatre.
