Richard Wheeler has a busy Crown Court criminal practice. He has defended cases involving grievous bodily harm with intent, aggravated burglary, violence, sexual assault, dishonesty, and drugs. He has been led in two large fraud cases. He has prosecuted environmental and planning breaches, revenue and customs matters and benefit fraud.
Richard is instructed regularly in criminal trials across the Western Circuit. Recent cases have involved:
Richard has notable experience defending in the Crown Court in trials of robbery, ABH, Affray, Handling Stolen Goods and Burglary. He was junior defence counsel for one of the defendants in Operation Whitelaw, a complex 10,000 page+ fraud trial.

Richard has also acted for Social Services in Public Interest Immunity applications.
