Lucia Whittle-Martin undertakes all types of criminal work. She has an evenly balanced prosecution and defence practise which is now based in Hampshire. A large proportion of her career has been spent prosecuting serious and complex fraud investigated by the Metropolitan Police Fraud Squad. Her name is on the list of counsel entitled to prosecute serious sexual offences at the Central Criminal Court.

Her experience includes:

Fraud

• Leading and Junior Prosecution Counsel in multi-handed mortgage fraud, investment fraud and Nigerian advance fee fraud for the Crown Prosecution Service Special Casework team
• Defending professional defendant fraud e.g. solicitor theft of client account money
• Defending in civil proceedings brought in the magistrates court under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2003

Sexual Offences

• Prosecuting and defending numerous rape and indecent assault cases e.g. prosecuting lengthy rape and abduction trial at Central Criminal Court
• Prosecuting and defending numerous child indecency cases involving TV link
