Katherine was called to the Bar in 2008 and is developing a busy practice in the following areas of law:

  • Employment

  • Public and Regulatory

She regularly appears in the County Courts and Employment Tribunals as well as other Regulatory Tribunals, including acting as a clerk on Education Appeals for various County Councils, advising on the applicable law and procedure.

Katherine is friendly and approachable. She was seconded to a large solicitors firm gaining valuable experience of client care.

Prior to joining the Bar, Katherine was appointed a Judicial Assistant to Lord Justice Mummery in the Court of Appeal where she assisted with property and chancery matters. She also gained further valuable experience whilst clerking in the Administrative Court, Royal Courts of Justice.

Katherine has a keen interest in European Union law and was awarded a Blue Book Stage by the European Commission in 2007, having been shortlisted from over 6,000 applicants. During her six month stage, she undertook a range of work including issuing infringement proceedings against the UK for breach of Directives and advising on potential claims. She regularly attended meetings at the European parliament to discuss new legislation and its implementation.
