Sunshine, good footwear and a sense of fun - what more did the enthusiastic walkers of 3PB need to raise £875 (and counting), on the annual London Legal Walk on 21 May? And all for the benefit of three worthy charities, London Legal Support Trust, the Free Representation Unit and the Bar Pro Bono Unit.
Barristers Oliver Powell and his wife Kristina, Carl Brewin, Richard Borrett and Alex Line and staff and clerks, Neil Monro, Dave Phillips, Craig Brown and Simon Lyons set off for the 10km sponsored walk around London’s famous legal landmarks. Walking past Parliament and the London Eye, along the Thames and ending up for a cold beer in Chancery Lane, the walk wasn’t without its mishaps. One walker forgot his walking boots (completing the walk in his brogues) and another forgot his sports clothes but marched on in his pinstripe suit. But banter, camaraderie and laughter ruled the day and money was raised to support 3PB’s three chosen charities.
Aching muscles, sore feet but a great sense of achievement. Well done to all the walkers!
