Health and Safety
3PB offers considerable expertise in health and safety law, advising and handling both criminal and civil cases including taking them to appeal where appropriate. We assist clients with the interpretation of relevant legislation and have extensive experience of multi-party litigations and group actions.
The unit is able to draw upon a breadth and depth of call, experience and skill within Regulatory Compliance. We offer advice, often at short notice, and advocacy in a variety of Regulatory Compliance areas for example:
- Health & Safety
- Corporate Manslaughter
- Food safety
- Marine and Fisheries related regulations
- Police civil actions
- Consumer protection
- Trading Standards
- Animal Health & Welfare
- Prosecutions on behalf of the General Medical Council at its Fitness to Practice Panels
These examples represent but a fraction of the areas covered by our team. We have an array of experience of prosecuting and defending (both for and against the Health & Safety Executive as well as numerous Local Authorities) in all manner of cases ranging from the minor regulatory breaches typically dealt with by magistrates to the largest, more serious and complex matters in the Crown Court and High Courts, often concerning fatal accidents. Unit members are also experienced in representing parties in coroners' inquests into fatal accidents.
Our team have been instructed in some of the leading recent cases in their areas and also provide advice on policy issues to companies, local authorities and other public bodies. Many combine their Health & Safety law practices with other specialisms and so are able to offer a wide range of expertise and experience to both private and public body clients.
Members also give presentations or instructional guides to solicitors and other professionals involved in Health & Safety and Regulatory Compliance Law, and often write articles on their own areas of expertise. If you would like to discuss recent or tailor made seminars for your team, please contact our clerks on email@example.com.
Above all, we make sure we give clients the level of support and legal expertise they need.
